A graduate of the University of Northumbria and the London School of Economics, Fiona has worked in a variety of voluntary and public sector roles including advising homeless people in Dublin, housing management, development and regeneration and strategy and policy development.

Most recently, Fiona spent three and a half years with the London Borough of Hackney as Corporate Director of Neighbourhoods and Regeneration. She was part of the small team of senior officers leading the authority from an Audit Commission ranking of 1 star to 3 stars. Responsible for a broad span of services, including regeneration and planning, transport and public realm, waste and recycling, community safety, environmental health and trading standards, together with leading for the Borough on all work associated with the 2012 Olympics and legacy planning.

Fiona is currently the Executive Director for Development and Environment at the Greater London Authority. As part of the senior management team for the GLA, she is responsible for overseeing the delivery and implementation of key strategies for Mayor Boris Johnson’s mayoralty in areas such as the London Plan, transport, housing, environment and climate change and in overseeing the operation of the Mayor’s powers in relation to significant planning applications in the capital.
